I think I have almost completed purchasing the necessary gear for the trip. It has gotten a bit more costly than I originally planned, but I know it will all be worthwhile. There will be plenty of replacement items and such yet to be bought on the road. That I am sure of.

With 23 days remaining until I hit the road, adding a link to this site that will lead to the American Cancer Society is one of the next measures. I plan on logging daily mileage, locations, and cost of rooms along the way. It has been very useful looking at what other travelers of the Panamerican highway have done (through stories and links on their webpages) in order to have an understanding of what I would like to record, and what I may find myself up against.

I just recently added a Paypal component to the site for anybody who would be interested in supporting me in my venture with a beer or hotel money. Don't feel as if by following this blog, there is any expectation of sponsorship. This is completely optional, and if you so choose to aid me in any way, it would be greatly appreciated.

In closing, I would like to thank my family and friends for their support in my upcoming adventure. First and foremost I would like to thank you, Mom and Dad, for watching Jakie Cobrasnakie, and for being my primary line of support in watching my mail and keeping up with the management of my finances along the way. To my friends, I appreciate the support and help in planning this trip (esp. Paul Treml, Quinn Baumberger...). To my employers/buddies at Cities Valet, LLC: Thanks for the flexibility of scheduling and the opportunity to return at a comparable employment status (I know I will need to bust my butt when I get back). An advance thank you to those who decide to sponsor, at any level, any part of my trip. Any amount of contribution would be greatly appreciated.

***Also, an advance thank you to all of those who decide to contribute to the American Cancer Society. This organization is a great front line in the fight against cancer. This organization secures funding for much needed research and provides a variety of great support services for those suffering with the many varieties of this life-altering disease.

***I hope everyone enjoys the content of this site. I will try to post often with stories, photos, mileage, and thoughts along the way. Please keep up and feel free to contact me through the site or via email. Receiving any type of correspondence along the way would be appreciated, considering I will be away from anything or anyone familiar for some time.
